Get More Organic Traffic To Your Website

In my 10 years as an SEO Freelancer and Marketing Professional, I have helped clients “get ranked” on search engines such as Google and Bing. During this time I have been faced with many challenges. From local builders to UK gadgets and international holidays I can certainly say there is no “one size fits all” SEO process. Every client I have worked with has needed a tailored service.

Expert SEO Freelancer Support

After studying e-commerce at uni from 2000-2004, as part of my Marketing degree, I first fully implemented the best practice processes for clients in 2008. It was however during this period that “black hat SEO” was all the rage. Unfortunately, my “white hat” at this time didn’t get much traction against all the industry search engine manipulators. I knew the strategies and techniques (article spinning, link farms etc) that used to get websites ranked at this dark time, but refused to provide these services for clients. It wasn’t until 2012 when Google started to punish these websites that the way I worked finally started to pay dividends for clients.

SEO requires knowledge of the ever-changing search engine algorithms, which for many can be quite an undertaking. Because of this, most people have very little understanding of what it takes to rank highly in search engines. Learning and adapting is essential for success.

When a client first speaks to me about SEO, I usually hear either “It’s a waste of time” or “I want to rank no1 for this keyword”. In my opinion, both of these statements are wrong and here’s why.

Is SEO a Waste of Time in 2018?

No matter which channels a website is promoted through, whether social, PPC or direct (email etc), the customer journey in most industries is the same. They search, they see a paid advert (social, remarketing etc), they visit the website, they leave to check out other adverts/businesses, they shortlist. They then carry out the second stage research to find out more about the company (usually on search engines) by looking for reviews and indicators of trust like year established and brand visibility etc. If a business doesn’t have a decent organic presence they would lose the customer at this stage.

Are Keywords Still Important for SEO?

If you are considering the benefits of free traffic that search engines provide and will continue to provide for a long time (because they have to) then you need to understand that while keywords are important, they are not the main focus anymore as SEO doesn’t work like this. Satisfying your customer needs is, however, this in marketing terms has never changed. How do you get more traffic to your website from search engines? You provide a better service than your competitors. Offer something different, become the industry expert and showcase this through effective SEO.

Is an SEO Freelancer Best For You?

By hiring an SEO Freelancer you will get the support you need when you need it most. They will mould around you and fill in the skills gaps and provide you with the direction you need in order to get more traffic to your website from search engines.

One of the issues I have with non-niche agencies is that they lack knowledge about their clients’ industries. You will have the same content writer working on blockchain one minute and self-storage facilities the next. How and where is the expert knowledge coming from? It makes no sense. With an SEO Freelancer, rather than dealing with the salesperson, account manager, company owner and possibly the person who actually does the work, you will be dealing with one person and be paying for that person to support you (instead of going through everyone else in the agency chain).

SEO Stages for Success

There are 4 stages in the process of effective SEO. Firstly research and strategy, secondly creation (articles, video, blogs, social, infographics etc), thirdly amplification and PR and finally data review and interpretation. This being a cyclical process the knowledge and learning are then fed back into the first strategy stage and the business continually grows.

I have built (and am still growing) a solid network of writers, designers and link building/PR experts in a variety of industries who I work closely with for content creation and promotion.

I have in-depth hands-on experience in every stage of the SEO process and in a variety of industries. By providing the technical SEO, research, strategy, and analysis that’s most valuable to my clients, I can work with them to develop and promote content or utilise my network of professional connections.

social media

Ensuring your website is set up for SEO success is of paramount importance. Make sure it’s super fast and working effectively for the visitor (and search engines) first.

Don’t waste time creating average content. Create content that makes a difference to your target market and your website will flourish.

google and bing

Combine text block elements with single image elements to create visually interesting sections that will attract your readers.

ppc strategy

Critical for success is the continual learning process. You need to find out what is working and what isn’t. Actionable insights through data collection can be fed back into your strategy.

“The proof is in the pudding” well apart from the fact I do love pudding, I also love to get keywords ranking highly on Google & Bing for my clients. Yes, an SEO’s main focus shouldn’t be on individual keywords anymore, but I thought I’d showcase some of the phrases I’ve managed to get ranking highly either as a freelancer or as part of a previous digital agency.
Local, National or International – I provide a leading SEO service that ensures your business grows from strength to strength on search engines.

Can You Get My Business On Google Maps?

Yes, local SEO is a service we provide so that your business appears on Google Maps. To ensure your business appears high up a number of SEO processes need to be completed.

Is there a minimum contract?

I operate on a monthly rolling contract so you have the benefit of not being tied to anything long term. For SEO to truly show results it usually takes around 6 months but this does depend on the status of your website.

How do you measure SEO success?

I measure SEO success by the number of visits to your website from organic channels such as Google and Bing. When conversion rate optimisation is combined with SEO, truly great results can be achieved.

How will we communicate?

This depends entirely on your SEO needs. I am flexible and put customer service of high importance in my operation. Face to face, Skype, Trello, phone and email are just a few ways we can work efficiently. We will establish the most effective way together.

Can you guarantee to get my keyword in #1?

The nature of SEO means that no one can completely guarantee a No.1 spot on a search engine. I do not work for Google or know every algorithm change that can affect rankings. I do however have a solid understanding and application of the SERP ranking factors.

How do you go about link building?

The process by which to obtain valuable links from other websites is an important factor in effective SEO. There are 2 ways I do this, firstly I create onsite linkable content and secondly I outreach to your industry influencers to obtain links.
